Shraddha Kapoor's Stree Producers Fight Over Money
It's all happening in Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films office. The man is no mood to share his profits of Stree with the film's co-producers Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK. SpotboyE.com has it that Raj-DK  (as the duo is known in the industry) had signed up a contract with Vijan, which spelt out that the two parties will split the profits (if any) into 2 equal halves. Stree ran away to success and the film amassed a profit of Rs 40 crore.

Going by that, Raj-DK need to be paid something to the tune of Rs 20 crore. But we hear that they have been told that they won't be given Rs 20 crore, and instead should settle for only 4 crore. The Stree co-producers are contemplating to take legal action against Vijan. Raj-DK even sent Madhu Mantena (who manages their work) to Vijan, but he came back to only tell them that Maddock Films can shell out maximum Rs 5 crore (shortchanged by Rs 15 crore).

Now, a source close to Vijan says, "Raj, DK and Maddock (Vijan's company) were supposed to make this film with a studio, but the studio backed out as they didn’t have confidence in Raj-DK’s track record. It was Vijan brought all the actors on board. Before approaching Vijan, Raj-DK had approached the same male actors who eventually made it into the film- but they had refused. Raj-DK were supposed to financially contribute in the making which they did not, they also did not execute the film fully.

Vijan hadn't had a great experience with the duo in Go Goa Gone (overbudget) and Happy Ending (losing proposition) but still went ahead with them. The duo then tried to sideline the dialogue writer and didn't want him to get credits. They tried the same with the director (Amar Kaushik) but Vijan stood by Amar which is why he is doing another film with Maddock (Bala, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar). Raj-DK have defaulted on the contract and even their own agency (Madhu Mantena) feels that they are being unreasonable. They were also busy shooting for an Amazon show and couldn't give Stree enough time.”

On the other hand, a source close to Raj-DK says,  "It is ridiculous to undermine Raj-DK's contribution to the film, especially since Stree is out-and-out their baby- whether it was penning the script/ story/ screenplay, or getting Amar Kaushik (their first AD on Go Goa Gone) to direct the film or even getting Rajkummar Rao to star in it. Amar, in fact, always said he was very grateful to them for encouraging him to direct it and bringing him on board. These rumours are extremely amusing especially because Raj-DK had even started producing before Vijan came on board. They were not only overseeing the shoot on the sets, but were present throughout the shoot in Chanderi and Bhopal too. They were on top of the game in every process- casting, shooting, editing, mixing, music, et al- that adds up to make the final print."

This fight is definitely going to the Court. Rs 15 crore is not a small amount.
